Inspiration in Real Life

Sometimes people scoff at inspirational quotes and stories. “Those are just words,” they say. They can’t help anyone. They can’t change a person’s life or mind. When you’re done reading them those words stay on the paper and you move on.

Well, here’s an example of a very simple motivational quote by Lou Holtz that helped inspire a high school girls’ softball team. The coach didn’t introduce it with a lot of fanfare. He didn’t hold a discussion about its meaning. He just hung the quote up in the dugout at a game. And then he did that again at the next game. In the end, those few small words on a page became something greater and spoke to a group of high school girls to help them improve their games and themselves.
