Before I started the Ro’s Words of Encouragement blog last November, I sent out my Weekend Words posts through e-mail to a group of friends, co-workers and clients. I still send those e-mails every Friday, but since starting the blog I also post the Weekend Words here. I am trying to go back through my older Weekend Words posts, the ones that were written before the blog existed, and share them with my blog readers. Old Guy in the Gym
I was recently working out at Fitness First Gym. I consider myself to be in decent shape and usually work out four times a week. As I was running on the elliptical machine, a couple of young ladies started using the machines next to mine. Of course I picked up my pace in an effort to impress them. A few minutes later, one of the young ladies turned to her friend and said, “You can’t quit. See that old guy over there? If he can do it, you sure can.”
Ok, this burst my bubble for the morning. However, the question remains: Do I quit believing in my youth? Do I take my place in quiet solitude as a middle-aged man should?
I think not!!
